SHARE INFORMATION
United Plantations Berhad (UP) is one of the larger medium sized plantations groups in Malaysia and is listed on Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (Bursa Malaysia).
The Company increased the number of ordinary shares by way of bonus issue of 208,134,266 ordinary shares on the basis of one (1) new ordinary share for every two (2) existing ordinary share held. The bonus issue exercise was completed on 27 February 2025. The issued capital is now 624,402,798 (including 2,225,322 treasury shares) and the class of shares are ordinary shares only. All shareholders whose names appear on the Record of Depositors at the time of the AGM will have the same voting rights, each share is entitled to one vote and voting on all resolutions to be proposed at the AGM will be by way of a poll.
The shareholders, via the Annual General Meeting, are the Company’s supreme authority and the Constitution constitute the principal guidelines for operations.
According to UP’s share register, the Company had 10,257 registered shareholders on 31 December 2025, compared to 9,597 registered shareholders at the end of 2024 shows an increase of 6.9%.
Share price development, market value and turnover
The market capitalization UP was RM18.77 billion at the end of the financial year 31 December 2025 compared to RM12.94 billion at the end of 2024.
In 2025, UP shares traded in a price range from RM20.11 to RM30.30 per share.
At the end of 2024, UP’s closing share price was RM20.72 and at the last trading date in 2025, it had increased to RM30.06 which is equivalent to an increase of 45.1%.
In 2025, the total turnover in the UP share was RM3.185 billion, which corresponds to a daily average trading turnover of RM13.053 million or approximately 532,980 shares, which was higher than the daily average number of 430,294 shares traded in 2024.
